Recyclamations!
These
sculptural wall pieces stemmed from my Recyclamation sculpture work
(for full explanation click here). I had a friend who loved my sculptures,
but simply did not have a place in her house to put one. She said, "now
if you had a piece that hung on the wall..." and that was how this work
began.
Dragonfly
These
pieces begin as a pine frame covered in plywood. Sculpted 3-D elements are added
using a combination of newspaper, duct tape and wire. A layer of fabric mache
and newspaper clay further sculpt the piece. A coat of acrylic modeling paste
and gel medium is added for fine detail and the piece is finished with acrylic
paint and varnish.
