Scenic Painting I - Tuesday, March 9, 6-8 PM
This workshop begins with the basics of scenic painting. We will learn how
to layer colors with sponges and spatters and look at techniques for creating
faux finishes such as rock, brick, wood and marble.
Scenic Painting II - Tuesday, March 16, 6-8 PM
Experiment with other scenic techniques to create foliage, trees and 3-D surfaces
using paint, carving foam and fabric.
Junk Puppets - Music Video
Ages 8 -12, Saturday, March 13, 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM
Cost: $25 for MTG members , $30 for non-MTG members
Use a variety of recycled items and crafty supplies to make several kinds
of puppets. We will then use our puppets to "lip-sync" songs and
create a music video. Creativity, imagination and experimentation will be
encouraged. All materials are included and students will take their creations
home at the end of the workshop. A copy of the "video" will be mailed
upon completion.
After School Prop Camp - Building
Fake Food
Ages 5th grade - 8th Grade
3:30 - 5:00 PM, A 5-day camp. Monday March 22- Friday March 26
Cost: $55 for MTG Members,
$65 for Non-Members
Includes all supplies and students will take all creations home. Learn how
theatre artists build fake food props for the stage. We will use methods of
paper and fabric mache, foam carving and more to create realistic looking
food. If coming straight from school, please bring a snack.
First Timer's Puppets
Ages 5-7, Saturday, April 17, 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Cost: $12 for MTG members , $15 for non-MTG members
Students will make a sock puppet and a stick puppet and learn the basic fundamentals
of bringing their characters to life through mouth and body movement.
Technical Theatre Fundamentals
I & II
Free for MTG members, $10/class for non-members

Tech. Theatre I - Tuesday April 20th, 6:30-8:30 PM
This is a class for beginners to learn the entire scenic design/technical
theatre process. We will look at steps to design a show, types of scenery
and basic theatre terminology.
Tech. Theatre II - Tuesday April 27th, 6:30-8:30 PM
Using the director's input, looking at pictures/video for inspiration and
reviewing scenery options, we will design "the library" for the
Music Man production. This will be a fun, no-pressure, group project requiring
NO artistic skill - just brainstorming and ideas.
